Cat’s Away Studio, like this website, is a work in progress. It began operation in 2007 as a personal recording studio, producing albums for Great Big Gone (Threadbare Heart, 2008) and Second String Band (Backroads, 2009), an EP for Sports Alternative (On Any Given Sunday, 2010), and a number of other projects.
The studio was originally housed in an unfinished 3-car garage space with a large upstairs attic. It has been on hiatus since August of 2010 when work commenced to turn the unfinished space into a combination woodworking shop and practice/recording space (downstairs), and a tracking and mixing studio (upstairs). The contracted work wrapped up in December of 2010, and we’ve been doing the finish work as time permits. The shop is coming along well, and we are now doing projects in the shop instead of on the shop! The studio part is still on hiatus, but work on it is finally under way...albeit slowly.
There’s a photo gallery here of projects and work-in-progress.
